Jaideep Joshi

I am an Advanced Postdoc at the University of Bern, Switzerland, Guest Research Scholar at the International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis (IIASA), Austria, and Visiting Research Scholar at the Okinawa Institute of Science and Technology Graduate University (OIST), Japan.

As an undergraduate, I studied Electrical Engineering, but thereafter pursued a research path in Ecology. For my PhD, I investigated the “Spatial and coevolutionary dynamics of cooperation” at the Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru. For my first postdoc, I joined IIASA, Austria, as a Marie-Skłodowska Curie Individual Fellow to work on forests and climate change.

My research interests are in evolutionary theory, vegetation modelling, and climate change. My current work focuses on developing eco-evolutionary vegetation models to understand the role of biodiversity and adaptation in forest responses to climate change.
